J. Shanon Tyler Roggenbuck is originally from Carlsbad, New Mexico, and lived in Lufkin, Texas for approximately 14 years. She has worked with various Human Services jobs since her early twenties. Shanon has been lucky enough to be able to spend most of her time raising her five children at home. All have been raised in the quiet rural areas of the far Northern Minnesota for the last 18 years.

Many things have influenced the way Shanon views the world and, since her early teens, she has kept many journals – off and on – throughout the years, as well as folios of her verse, art, and other complete to incomplete stories. She believes in a "live and let live" philosophy.
